| With the 1st pick in the 3rd round, the Packers select....................................... Joe Flacco, QB Deleware GB doesn't need to groom a starting QB because Rodgers is ready to go, but Flacco is a bit of a project (Didn't play very good competition and will need to be taught to play QB at the NFL Level) and doesn't need to become a starter anytime soon. Flacco has tremendous upside and could eventually unseat Rodgers as the starting QB, but would be decent enough to be a #2 QB right away if need be. Flacco will have one of the strongest arms in the NFL and could be like Brett Favre with his arm strength. | |

| With the 2nd pick in the 3rd round, the New York Jets select................... Patrick Lee, CB Auburn The Jets were a team trying really hard to get Asante Samuel but couldnt get him. They need another CB to defend against Patriots (Moss/Welker),Bills (Evans/Kelly), Dolphins (Ginn/Hardy/Wilford). | |

| With the 3rd pick in the 3rd round, the Miami Dolphins select................... Martellus Bennett, TE Texas A&M. It came down to Bennett and Flacco but flacco was just taken. Flacco being gone really didnt push me toward Bennett, because i was really leaning towards Bennett. Miami hasnt replaced Randy McMichael very well with David Martin. Martin is horrible and should be cut. I think the dolphins lineup would be better having Bennett and Peele as TE's. Bennett is a really good recieving TE who is pretty good at blocking. He is a big Target to help out Beck and the other WR's (Ginn, Hardy, Wilford, Hagan, and Camarillo). so far this offense is starting to take shape along with the defense. | |

| With the 4th pick in round 3, The Patriots select......................................... Chris Johnson, RB ECU Johnson is not a need whatsoever for the Pats, but the Pats go with the BPA theory and they believe it to be Chris Johnson. The Pats love versatile players and will find a way to use Johnson. Johnson will be one of the fastest players in the NFL and will help make New Englands offense even more dangerous. | |

| With the fifth pick in the 3rd round the Chiefs select................... Anthony Collins OT Kansas Chiefs added Branden Albert in the second round and look again to revamp their aging/depleted line. Collins ran slow at the combine, but OL doesn't need to be the fastest guy and they get a solid player/contributer in Collins. | |

| With the 6th pick in the 3rd round the Jets select........................ Andre Caldwell WR Florida The jets went after Javon walker before being out bid by the redskins because the need somne WR help. Since they couldnt trade this pick for Walker they decided to take a WR here and Caldwell was the best one left. Caldwell is a big fast WR (6-0 204 4.37) and could be a #2 or slot WR. | |

| With the 7th pick in the 3rd round the 49'ers select........................ John Greco, Toledo The 49ers need help on the o-line. Greco, who primarily plays tackle, can also move inside and play guard. Very versatile o-lineman, started as a Freshman and was first team all-mac as a Junior and Senior. | |

| With the 8th pick in the 3rd round the Bills select........................ Mike Pollak, Arizona State The Bills need another lineman to help protect Trent Edwards and to pave the way for Marshawn Lynch. Pollak had a great combine, and the bills could use a center. | |

| With the 9th pick in the 3rd round the Bengals select........................ Quintin Demps, FS UTEP Demps was once rated as the number 2 safety in the draft but then he fell a little and the other safeties stock went up, but after the combine Demps has re-emerged as the second best FS in the draft. The Bengals secondary needs some help and with the Bengals losing Madieu Williams to FA there is an empty starting spot for a safety. | |

| With the 10th pick in the 3rd round the Saints select............................ Thomas DeCoud, FS California The Saints need help at FS. The Saints considered taking FS Kenny Phillips but decided Jenkins was a better fit. Bollocks isnt very good and needs to be upgraded over. He gets beat too many times. By adding Jenkins (CB) and DeCoud (FS) to the Saints secondary, it looks a whole lot better. | |

| With the 11th pick in the 3rd round the Bills select............................ Charles Godfrey, Iowa When you play against Moss/Welker/Watson/Faulk/Gaffney, it can never hurt to have too many corners. Buffalo needs a few other positions before CB, but with no one else at those positions worthy of a 3rd rounder they will adress depth. | |

| With the 12th pick in the third the Vikings select........................ Justin King CB Penn State The Vikings need a talented corner to help with their horrid pass defense. They added Harvey to help get a rush, and King has the speed to lock down on any WR. He ran a blazing 4.31 at the combine, and also has good size. This will also allow the Vikings to put Marcus McCauley in the nickel, which is where he is best suited for. | |

| With the 13th pick in the third round the Panthers select.......................... DeJuan Morgan S NC State The Panthers were eyeing Kenny Phillips hard in the first round until he was selected one pick before them. This was alright though, as another one of their top prospects fell to them in the third. The Panthers are old at the Safety position, and Morgan is a solid player with decent speed and excellent size. Morgan is also a tackling machine notching 117 tackles his senior season at NC State. | |

| With the 14th pick in the third round the Bears select.......................... Matt Forte, Tulane Is it time to consider Cedric Benson a Bust yet? I think its pretty obvious that the bears made the wrong decision at running back by trading Thomas Jones away to the Jets. Forte came from a mediocre team, where he was a star with little help surround him. Had some great games this year, even against some powerhouses. | |

| With the 15th pick in the third round, the Dallas Cowboys select............. Beau Bell LB UNLV The Cowboys signed veteran Zach Thomas to a one year deal recently, but considering his age and injuries he isn't a long term answer. Bell is an aggressive, hard hitting player that will hold down a MLB spot in their 3-4 for a long time. Learning under Zach Thomas for a season will only benefit this player and make him a better starter for the future. Alongside Cliff Avril, Zach Thomas and DeMarcus Ware, this can be one of the most fierce LB cores in the entire NFL. | |

| With the 16th pick in the third round, Arizona selects............. Chris Harrington,DE, Texas A&M I've heard that they might possibly move to a 3-4 scheme, which is where Harrington could really thrive. In either scheme, he will be a solid player. BTW, there is a typo in the draft board. It says that the Cards Drafted a RB Reggie Smith in the first, but he is a CB. [EDIT]: Good find. i knew he was a CB/S but typed it in wrong. it wont happen again.lol | |

| With the 17th pick in the third round, the Vikings pick.................. Brad Cottam TE Tennessee Cottam is by far the best blocking TE coming out of this draft. And weighing in at the combine at 270 might just show why that is. Don't let that weight fool you though, this guy runs a 4.68, not too bad! Has good hands, and looked very fluid in all the drills at the combine. Has been rocketing up boards lately, and considering his blocking abilities, he will be a great pick for the Vikings, who are a run first team. | |

| With the 18th pick in the 3rd round, the Houston Texans select.............................. Xavier Adibi, OLB Virginia Tech Adibi was a leader on the Hokie defense that has been pretty good recently. Adibi was a projected 2nd rounder so the value at this pick for Houston is tremendous. Houston is not far from being a contender and OLB was a position that needed upgraded. Adibi will be able to team with fellow OLB Morlon Greenwood and the best player on the Texans Defense, MLB DeMeco Ryans to make a pretty fierce LB corps. The Texans considered going after help in the secondary, especially CB, but Adibi was available still and was too good for Houston to pass up. | |

| With the 19th pick in the 3rd round, the Eagles select.............................. Jamar Adams, SS, Michigan Eagles are looking to beef up their secondary this year after signing Asante Samuel and drafting Adams. This is a great steal for the Eagles, as Adams was a projected 2nd rounder by most. | |

| With the 20th pick in the third round, the Minnesota Vikings select...... Phillip Wheeler LB Georgia Tech The Vikings are a team that has already addressed most of their issues in the draft, with no other real steals, they go BPA and snag Phillip Wheeler, a possible 2 round talent. He is better suited to play OLB in the pros, and could probably learn a year or two and possibly start after that. Good value pick considering it's this late in the third round. | |

| With the 21th pick in the third round, the Broncos select...... Kirk Barton, Ohio State Most people expected Denver to select a MLB in the third, but I think Niko Koutouvides can provide as a solid MLB in Denvers Scheme. With a re-vamped front seven that includes Shaun Rogers, Jason Taylor, Elvin Dumervil, Marcus Thomas, DJ WIlliams, Boss Bailey and Niko Koutouvides, O-line depth should be their next concern. Barton is an athletic OT who had a good pro day. He could compete with LT Ryan Harris for the starting job after Matt Lepsis's retirement. | |

| With the 22nd pick in round 3, the Detroit Lions select ..................................... Red Bryant, DT Texas A&M
After trading Shaun Rogers to Denver, the Lions needed a big DT to replace him. Bryant is very similiar in size to Shaun Rogers. The Lions D-Line will now look like:
DeWayne White, Cory Redding, Red Bryant, Matt Roth
In time, that D-Line could look to become a very good one with two pass rushers on the outside, a huge DT in Bryant who can clog up the middle, and Redding can play the run well but is athletic enough from the DT spot to rush the passer. | |
