| DO NOT POST IN HERE UNLESS YOU ARE MAKING YOUR PICKS!!!...TO TALK ABOUT THE PICK AND TO DISCUSS AND COMMENT ABOUT THE PICK, GO TO THE "MOCK DRAFT GAME *DISCUSSION*" THREAD.Here is how we play. You pick a team according to the order below until all the teams are taken. Then you have to research the teams draft needs and have to make reasonable picks for each team. There can be trade downs and trade ups only if the team you want to trade with agrees to the trade and our administrators agree too. You can trade draft picks for players, a package of lower picks for a higher pick, etc...Make sure if you propose a trade it is realistic and would help out your team. Don't just trade a player to get them off one of your rivals team (that is why you have to have an administrator approve the trade). The only thing about trades is that you have to trade with teams that you DO NOT own, you can't trade between two teams you are drafting for. If you plan to try and make a trade, you have to PM the person and propose a trade to them. If you both agree on the trade, BOTH of the trade partners have to send a PM to an administrator. When you make your pick post a description on why you picked the player that you did. This draft game work better with more people but it still will be a fun way to pass the time since the NFL news is kind of slow right now. Since these 4 people are on a lot, then our draft will go faster. You will end up with either 8 teams to draft for. Here are some NFL Team Needs Links to help you out. NFL Draft Countdown Team Needs Walter Football Team Needs Football's Future Team Needs We will pick the teams according to our number of current posts, so our draft order is... 1-The Referee-185 posts 2-Line Judge-89 posts 3-AtzingerB-84 posts 4-Davis7907-36 posts AFC North Pittsburgh Steelers-[DAVIS7907] Cleveland Browns-[LINE JUDGE] Cincinnati Bengals-[THE REFEREE] Baltimore Ravens-[ATZINGERB]

| With the first overall selection in the draft, the Atlanta Falcons select................... Darren McFadden, RB Arkansas. McFadden is a game changer. Harrington was servicable last year, and drafting a QB to lead the franchise from day one is not a good idea with their swiss cheese line. Atlanta also moved up two spots in the second round to the 32nd overall pick, (practically a first round pick) and also got rid of DeAngelo Hall who most likely wasn't going to play another down for them anyways. Oh yeah, and he ran a 4.27 40 yard dash at the combine. | |

| With the 2nd overall pick in the draft, the St. Louis Rams select . . . . . Jake Long, T Michigan. The Rams debated back and forth between Jake Long and Chris Long, but decided that the O-Line was a bigger problem than the D-Line. Jake Long will be able to learn from one of the best LT's (if not the best LT) in the past decade and will help both in pass and run blocking. The Rams offense actually ranked lower than their defense which helped in the choice of Jake Long over Chris Long. Long will help protect Bulger and open up lanes for Steven Jackson which could allow the Rams offense to be explosive once again. | |

| Miami Dolphins traded the #1 overall pick to the Atlanta Falcons. We ended up getting a shut down Corner for practically a 3 round pick. Also now Miami doesn't have to pay number 1 overall money to a player. With the third overall selection in the draft, the Miami Dolphins select............... Chris Long, DE Virginia Chris Long is a perfect fit for our new 3-4 defensive scheme. Matt Ryan was also a possibility here, but the Miami Dolphins front office is going to give Beck a shot to start and therefore arent going to use there first round pick on a QB. | |

| With the 4th overall selection in the draft, the Oakland Raiders select.............. Glenn Dorsey, DT LSU With Warren Sapp retiring, the Raiders need a DT to take over. Dorsey is an absolute beast and should be very success full in the NFL. | |

| With the 5th overall selection in the 2008 NFL Draft the Kansas City Chiefs select............................... Matt Ryan QB Boston College The Chiefs struggled with Croyle and Huard at QB last year. They signed LJ long term, and also added a weapon in Dwayne Bowe last year at the draft. They should go OT here, but with Jake Long already off the board they go BPA who just happens to fill a huge hole for themselves. Matt Ryan is by far the best QB coming out of this draft and seems to be ready for the pros. | |

| With the 6th overall selection in the draft, the New York Jets select.............. Sedrick Ellis, DT USC After dominating in the Senior Bowl, Sedrick Ellis' draft stock skyrocketed. The Jets need some help along the defensive line. Ellis could play DT or DE in the Jets 3-4 defensive scheme. Ellis really excels at getting to the QB and stopping the run. Thats exactly what the Jets need. | |

| With the 7th overall pick in the draft, the New England Patriots select . . . . . . . . Vernon Gholston, DE/OLB Ohio State The Patriots were wanting to trade down but there were no takers so they went with a BPA pick that also fit a need. The Pats get a tremendous pass rusher and physical freak in Vernon Gholston. Gholston will be able to add a ton of pressure on the QB and infuse some youth into the aging LB corp of the Pats. | |

| With the 8th overall selection in the draft, the Baltimore Ravens select . . . . . . . . Leodis McKelvin, CB Troy State With Matt Ryan off the board, the Ravens had to look elsewhere at a different need and the Baltimore CB's are aging and have injury concerns. The Ravens grab a great young CB to help bolster the defense because they felt there wasn't a QB left worthy of the 8th overall pick. | |

| With the 9th overall selection in the draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select . . . . . . . . Keith Rivers LB USC One of the biggest needs for the Bengals is a strong side OLB and Keith Rivers would have great value here. The Bengals struggled last year on defense, especially getting pressure on the QB and stopping the run. | |

| With the 9th overall selection in the draft, the New Orleans Saints select . . . . . . . . Mike Jenkins, CB USF It's no secret that the Saint secondary is horrible. There CB and S play last year was not very good. Jason David (FA pick up last year) was a big disapointment and looks like he can only play in the cover 2 scheme and be sucessful. By taking Mike Jenkins here would give them the speed and talent to upgrade there passing defense. The Saints considered FS Kenny Phillips here but felt they couldn't pass on a very talented CB. | |

| With the 11th overall selection in the draft, the Buffalo Bills select... WR Malcolm Kelly, Oklahoma The Bills need a receiver, and Kelly and D. Jackson seem to be the only options. Jackson is a smaller receiver, and what the Bills need is a bigger, possession receiver, which Kelly can be. | |

| With the 12th overall selection in the 2008 NFL Draft, The Denver Broncos select... Kenny Phillips, FS, Miami With John Lynch getting older and the recent news that he may not return for the 2008 season, Kenny Phillips is the best choice. He is an impact player who can instantly step into the D and become a starter. | |

| With the 13th overall selection in the 2008 NFL draft, the Carolina Panthers select................................ Ryan Clady OT Boise State. The Panthers offense was horrible last year and couldn't open any running lanes for DeAngelo Williams. Jordan Gross was franchised, but he is better suited for a RT instead of a LT. Clady would have been a top 5 pick if he would have stayed in school his senior year. Clady instantly upgrades this offense as a whole. | |

| With the 14th overall selection in the 2008 NFL Draft, The Chicago Bears select..... Chris Williams, OT, Vanderbilt The Bears were debating between Brohm and Williams, but with the release of Fred Miller and John Tait being at the end of his career, Williams was the better pick. OL is where they need the most help, and Rex Grossman finally looked like a good QB before he was injured last year. | |

| With the 15th overall selection, the Detroit Lions select . . . . . . . . . . Jeff Otah, T Pittsburgh The Lions offense has one major weakness and it's the O-Line which has put Kitna on his back far too many times the last two years. Otah will help bolster the O-Line of Detroit and help protect Kitna, and Drew Stanton in the future. The Lions may have reached a little bit with this pick but not enough to discourage the pick. They also considered Malcolm Kelly (LOL Just Joking) | |

Jonathan Stewart RB Oregon It was a very hard decision on which RB to take but I think Jonathan Stewart is the better pick here. With Shaun Alexander declining in production and increasing in age, Seattle has to get a good replacement for him. They also are going to have ot beef up the O-line too to help Stewart out.

They have good DT's so he should flourish.

| With the 18th overall selection in the draft, the Houston Texans select...................... Rashard Mendenhall, RB Illinois Houston got the RB they wanted to begin with. Houston needs help in the secondary too, but Mendenhall will allow Houston to move on from Ron Dayne and the oft-injured Ahman Green who will either split time with Mendenhall, be released, or traded. Mendenhall will be able to help the Texans run offense which ranked 22nd (HOU offense was ranked 14th in the NFL, and its pass offense was 11th). Mendenhall will give Houston an offense to be feared with Schaub, Andre Johnson, and Mendenhall. | |

| With the 19th overall selection in the draft, the Eagles select...................... Phillip Merling, DE, Clemson The Days of Jevon "The Freak" Kearse are over, and Philly needs another DE to help their D-Line out. Merling is a huge DE and should compliment Trent Cole very well. CB would be the best for Philly, but with the top 2 off the board already Merling is the best fit. | |
