On the free agent market, middle linebackers are few. New Orleans' Mark Simoneau, 6-0, 238 and 31 years old, helped the Saints improve enough for the team to make the 2006 NFC title game. Beyond him, the starting material looks rather thin.Simoneau's agent William Vann McElroy said he had a meeting scheduled with Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland at next week's NFL Scouting Combine, but he doesn't know which specific players will be discussed. I don't think it is an upgrade over Zach Thomas but it might be an upgrade over MLB Channing Crowder. A 31 year old LB? I know the MLB FA class is weak, so look for Miami to look to the draft for another MLB, maybe Beau Bell, Vince Hall or Jonathan Goff. | |

| They're going to have to find someone to fill that void now that Thomas is gone. I think signing a vet like this guy would help more than drafting one, since Thomas was the "field general". Does he have any experience in a 3-4? | |
