He's a very good TE for Indy and although I agree he doesn't deserve it, he is an integral part of that offense.

I think he's worth it. They're hurting for cap space and are desperate to keep him. He is the X factor in their offense, just like Gates for SD or Winslow for Cleveland. His speed makes it hard for a LB to cover him, I think he's worth the franchise tag. I don't see Indy being aggressive at all in FA though.

Exactly, they need cap space. So why not let him go and re-sign Utect and either Jake Scott or Ryan Lilja to help the o-line out?

Well, I guess the Colts are fine. After the colts franchised Clark, they signed Ryan Lilja to a 5 year deal.
